The Hundred wins leads, Seven wins Tuesday.

Deal or No Deal special, Made in Bondi and triple j's One Night Stand all struggled to pull a crowd last night.

The importance of a strong lead-in was evident in last night’s programming with The Hundred again winning its slot, while 10 dropping specials across select weeks did not work for Deal or No Deal.

The Block again topped entertainment at 1.08m viewers in National TV Audience.

My Kitchen Rules drew 837,000 then 7:30 (744,000), Back Roads (572,000) but Deal or No Deal: Celebrity Jackpot struggled at 264,000. Great Coastal Railway Journeys followed on 178,000.

The Hundred with Andy Lee led its slot at 618,000 then The Cheap Seats (416,000) and The Assembly (415,000). Insight at 170,000 eclipsed Made in Bondi at 164,000 which began around 9pm.

Seven News was #1 at 1.32m. Home & Away was strong at 884,000 then The Chase (619,000). First Dates UK managed 87,000.

Nine News averaged 1.21m for Nine. A Current Affair at 1.01m and Tipping Point (653,000) both won their slots. True Story with Hamish & Andy replayed to 352,000 / 254,000.

ABC News was 881,000. Hard Quiz (373,000), Antiques Roadshow (195,000), The Art Of (182,000) followed but triple j’s One Night Stand in a lengthy slot was just 47,000.

The Project drew 318,000 for 10. 10 News First was 314,000 then Deal or No Deal (286,000) and NCIS (139,000).

On SBS it was SBS World News (178,000 / 152,000) , Dateline (158,000) and Mastermind (93,000).

Sunrise: 405,000
Today: 311,000

  1. It’s just impossible, rigged much. Nine beats Seven Overall. Look.. Seven News beats Nine News then All Nine ACA beats H&A, The Block beats MKR, The Hundred Smashes Made in Bondi, True Story Hamish & Andy Smashes Nowhere to be seen First Dates UK, 9News Late & Chicago Med beats The Latest 7News. And the Best Performing Multichannels 9Gem, 7Two, 7Mate, 9Go. Doesn’t stack up & certainly doesn’t make any sense.. OzTam is stuffed up & I’m just sick of it now.!! Anyways no matter what, the Channel 9 Network is the Real Winner!!

  2. Celebrity DOND continues to rate poorly, so two questions… is it damaging the main brand and how concerned should 10 be for the impact it is having on TCS. Last nights 100th episode was excellent and the looking episodes from decades ago show how versatile it can be (sit com setups).

  3. The Block shows a very rude Builder treating a small 22 year old woman very badly, making her cry and then go to a commercial break showing David Campbell speaking about channel 9 treating women with respect…go figure that one !!

  4. Although I suppose the ABC won’t be complaining about The Assembly’s ratings remaining steady, one wonders if they may have been hoping for a boosted figure last night given that Adam Goodes’ former AFL team is still in the 2024 premiership race (which presumably should’ve added some interest)?

Whatever the case, I’ll be interested to see how Amanda Keller’s episode of The Assembly goes next week. As part of one of this city’s top rating brekky radio shows, she’s obviously still a household name here in Sydney. But what about the rest of Australia who’ve barely seen Amanda on TV since The Living Room wrapped up nearly two years ago?

Despite a 15k increase on last week, Made In Bondi continues to struggle for Seven. Of the five main channels, last in its timeslot for a 3rd week in a row! While The Assembly will probably score a 2nd season (afterall, the ABC have renewed duds like Austin and their Mother & Son revival…), I suspect this will be the first and only season of MIB.

    1. I’ve been watching the assembly in advance on iview and am not sure how this is captured in the ratings – I think the ABC put all episodes up at once right at the start. Presumably this does adversely impact overnight ratings if I watched an episode 2+ weeks ago?

      1. It’s a question I asked OzTAM some time ago. Basically those numbers are not tallied because they need to be tied to a braodcast date. The network would know the total but they aren’t in what OzTAM supplies. A loophole really.
