NFL Christmas Gameday, a first-ever Christmas NFL event, will screen on Boxing Day in Australia as part of a three-season deal to 2026.
Two marquee games the Super Bowl LVII-winning Chiefs will face the Steelers and the Ravens will take on the Texans.
“Last year, we decided to take a big bet on live — tapping into massive fandoms across comedy, reality TV, sports, and more,” says Netflix Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria. “There are no live annual events, sports or otherwise, that compare with the audiences NFL football attracts. We’re so excited that the NFL’s Christmas Day games will be only on Netflix.”
Live on Netflix on December 26.
Chiefs vs. Steelers at 5am AEDT.
Ravens vs. Texans at 8:30am AEDT
Amended.

I get it’s a promotional statement, but it bothers me when these PR teams come out with statements that are just blatant falsehoods.
I can list half a dozen more popular events than the NFL (123 million) – Sydney’s NYE fireworks (425 million+ per year), Eurovision (180 million+ per year), the Premier League (1.8 billion+ per year), the CCTV New Year’s Gala (900 million+ per year). Even the evening news in China brings in about 135 million viewers a night.
What’s the source for Sydney’s NYE fireworks, are you adding YouTube?
I think the broadcast time of Chiefs v Steelers should be 5am AEDT rather than 5pm. It kicks off at 1pm local time on Christmas Day.
I can ask, but they were the times Netflix supplied. Update: Well spotted. Netflix has corrected their info.
