Good to see a decades-old institution still pulling solid numbers. Emily Symons barely got any screen time since I started watching H&A again a year ago, and she hasn’t had a single storyline in that time other than being the always radiant coffee lady or peripherally roped into somebody else’s storyline.
I also wasn’t around for her marriage to Palmer. Why the hell did the writers break them up if neither actor intended to leave the show? All they’ve done is rob both characters/actors of storytelling potential (unless the actors wanted them to split up?). And I’m not terribly interested in all of the petty young adult drama, which is such a departure from the serial’s roots.
When Symons is given anything even slightly dramatic or comic, she absolutely nails the delivery/performance, so it seems a waste of her talents to not give her more to do (unless Symons specifically requested to take it easy while wanting to stay on the show). In any case… #MoreStoriesForMaz
You missed the storyline where they had Marilyn’s crazed long lost daughter show up and ended up kidnapping Marilyn and a bunch of her friends.
I think Marilyn (Emily Symons) gets more stories of her own than Roo (Georgie Parker). I’m surprised they have such a well known and awarded actress do so little.
