Insight: Oct 8

This week's forum, in collaboration with NITV, asks how are we acknowledging our shared past and are we getting it right?

Tonight’s episode of Insight, in collaboration with NITV, is “Recognising Our Past — how are we acknowledging our shared past and are we getting it right?

This discussion hears from Belinda Huntriss, a Worimi woman who works as an Aboriginal education teacher at a Catholic primary school where she teaches history from an Aboriginal perspective; Louise Elliot, a Hobart City councillor, who has been happy that her two children are learning about Indigenous history; Anthony Dillon who identifies as “part-Aboriginal Australian” and thinks moving forward is not contingent on recognising the past; and Deb Hull who has maintained a strong interest and understanding of curriculum changes in Victoria, as part of her role as a curriculum adviser at the History Teachers’ Association of Victoria.

8:30pm tonight on SBS.
