Is a new road trip series coming to SBS?

Time to ditch the great walks for the great road trips?

Melissa Leong has been filming a new series Great Australian Road Trips with comedian Nazeem Hussain.

Leong revealed she had been filming last night during an appearance on Have You Been Paying Attention? while her instagram indicates the pair filmed for a week and a half across the Top End and Central Australia.

“From Darwin to Kakadu and Gunbalunya, to Alice Springs and King’s Canyon, I am always awestruck at the beauty, power and magic of this complicated, marvellous place,” she wrote.

“Can’t wait to show you what we made… but for now, here’s a sneak peek!”

It isn’t clear which broadcaster, but SBS could be a good tip given it has Great Australian Walks, Great Australian Railway Journeys and Leong recently presented on The Hospital: In The Deep End.

The series could potentially have other presenters for different road trips too.

SBS announce their 2025 Upfronts on October 30.
