Renewed: Slow Horses

Espionage thriller starring Gary Oldman will be back for a sixth season

Apple TV+ has renewed espionage thriller Slow Horses for a sixth season, following the fourth season finale last week.

Gary Oldman, who stars as irascible Jackson Lamb, will return for six new episodes.

“Audiences around the world have fallen in love with the Slow Horses, and I’m delighted that Gary Oldman will be leading this star-studded cast on another acerbic and action-packed adventure,” said Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, Apple TV+.

Season six sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.

The cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Samuel West, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Joanna Scanlan and Jonathan Pryce. Season 5 also featured Hugo Weaving.

  1. Terrific news just finished watching the most recent season, I love that each season ends with a preview of the next season as they’ve already been filming it, love all the actors in the show so well produced.

  2. I needed just a little bit of good news today and this is it. Books 5 and 6 (‘London Rules’ and ‘Joe Country’) are 2 of my favourites in the series. Just started book 7 ‘Slough House’ last night. Book 9 (‘Clown Town’) is out at some point next year, about the middle I think. Mick Herron has always said he’s doing only 10 Slough House novels, so our time remaining may be limited.

I see also that Morwenna Banks is working on bringing the Zoe Boehm novels to AppleTV, with Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson attached. I can’t get a straight answer on whether it’s the same universe, but either way I can’t wait for the crossover.

  3. Great news
But Last weeks season finale was S4 not S5.
I think they have already wrapped production on S5 because there was a S5 trailer attached to the end of S5 E6
I think S5 will drop some time next year.
