The Block leads entertainment, Dessert Masters returns to 10

MKR outranked the return of Dessert Masters. HYBPA? beats Four Corners look into Live Nation.

Renovation remained ahead of two cooking reality shows going head to head on Monday.

The Block led entertainment with 1.11m in Total TV Audience.

That was ahead of My Kitchen Rules (930,000), 7:30 (777,000), Australian Story (744,000) and Dessert Masters (467,000).

Later Have You Been Paying Attention? scored 724,000 then Four Corners (651,000), Media Watch (593,000), The Rookie (398,000) and Bali 2002 (382,000).

Seven News was #1 at 1.36m for Seven. Home & Away was high at 905,o00 then The Chase (667,000). SWAT was 193,000.

Nine News averaged 1.23m then wins by A Current Affair (1.14m) and Tipping Point (692,000), Nine News Late was 230,000.

ABC News drew 848,000. Hard Quiz (336,000),  Catalyst (236,000) and Antiques Roadshow (194,000) followed.

The Project pulled 326,000 for 10. 10 News First was 310,000 then Deal or No  Deal (286,000) and Taskmaster Australia (TBA)

On SBS it was SBS World News (189,000 / 143,000), Into the Amazon with Robson Green (134,000), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (132,000) and Never Mind the Buzzcocks (TBA).

News Breakfast: 224,000

  1. Has ABC given up on Monday nights at 9.30pm? A repeat of Catalyst about birds. Really ABC?? That’s the best you can do? Pathetic! Q&A clearly has an axe hanging over it.

    1. It appears most of the networks have given up on new content post 9.30pm apart from rare circumstances. Even in peak ratings period the numbers just no longer seem to justify new content at that time of night. It is a peculiarly Australian thing with UK and USA having a lot of their drama at 10.00pm or later to great success (UK stations advetise these prominently as ‘post watershed’ indicating a more intense type of content.)

      Here I would previously have speculated that people move on to streamers or other forms of entertainment but I think long commutes and early starts for many lead to people going to bed much earlier. 10.00pm probably sees out the majority of the adult population these days.
