36-year-old nurse Arvin Garcia has won The Great Australian Bake Off 2024.
In the final episode, Arvin’s botanical-themed signature cake, intricate paris-brests for the technical, and a stunning ‘Rising Phoenix’ showstopper won over judges Rachel Khoo and Darren Purchese.
He defeated fellow finalists Dimi Jayamardene and Elliot Styche for the title.
Arvin said: “Winning Bake Off feels like a dream come true! Standing here with Dimi and Elliot, two amazing bakers, is such an honour. This journey has been so meaningful – not just pushing my creativity and skills, but sharing a bit of my culture and story through my bakes. Every moment has been unforgettable, and I’ll carry these memories with me forever.”
Judge Rachel Khoo said, “Arvin’s passion for baking, combined with his meticulous attention to detail, truly set him apart. Every bake he made told a story, and it was inspiring to see how he wove his culture and memories into each creation. His attitude throughout the competition and creativity make him a deserving winner of this season’s Bake Off.”
In addition to the title, Arvin takes home the ultimate baker’s kitchen from SMEG.
The series by BBC Studios Productions Australia concluded witha tribute to the late Cal Wilson.

I actually am loving Canadian Bake off. They have managed to keep the last hosts and judges for the seasons. They don’t try and copy the british version but it is so watchable
I thought Natalie did a wonderful job without Cal Wilson….I felt for her. Not a fan of Rachel but Darren is good.
Aussie Bake Off will never match Great British Bake Off. All Aussie seasons seem to be lacking that special something that the Brits do so much better. Time for a change to the hosts and judges for 2025.
