Eddie hosting Seven talk show? Yeah, nah….
There were raised eyebrows in network corridors over one wild rumour this week.

Don’t expect Eddie McGuire to be hosting a late night talk show on Seven anytime soon.
On Monday the Australian Financial Review suggested a discussion had taken place between the Nine sports anchor and Seven News boss Anthony De Ceglie.
TV Tonight understands that was news to some of Seven’s top brass (and probably some Nine honchos too).
While McGuire reportedly didn’t deny the rumour, it’s not on the cards.
Late night talk shows, particularly of the Tonight show style, do not come cheap and in a punishing advertising climate there is no coin nor advertising to justify its existence at this point in time. Let alone with a Nine personality…
So while the topic may have been part of a wider conversation, we’ll just rule a line through this one for now.
