Maddy & Charlotte win The Block 2024

The youngest ever contestants become youngest ever winners, after entering the show late but landing the top auction sale.

NSW sisters Maddy & Charlotte have won The Block 2024 with their Phillip Island home auctioned for a whopping $3.5m.

At $1.55m over their reserve the couple beat out four other couples, netting them a further $100,000 prize.

They were the show’s youngest ever contestants and winners -entering the game late after the exit of Jesse & Paige.

This year all 5 homes sold at auction in a day of high drama -all bought by one buyer. At $5.43 million it was also a record in winnings for the Nine show in its 20th season.

Final sales were:

The episode kicked off at Woolami Surf Lifesaving Club with the return of Kylie & Brad for the reveal of reserves and plenty of drama-rama around order of the auction.

After 5th place was volunteered by Maddy & Charlotte, the remaning contestants were left to run for paddles in the sand. It proved to be a savvy decision.

“We are just so grateful, and it’s a very surreal feeling,” said Maddy. “You can’t anticipate how something like The Block will end, but it is the perfect ending for us. I think there is such a special relationship with sisters, and I’m so proud of both of us and how hard we worked.”

Charlotte added, “To end The Block on such a high note is so special. We never thought it would go like this. I could not have had this experience with anyone else but Maddy. We have been in this from the beginning, so it’s an incredible feeling for both of us now.”

Maddy and Charlotte concluded: “This has been the experience of a lifetime. Winning this much money is life-changing for us. We can’t believe Adrian loved our house as much as we do!”

“It’s a fantastic result,” said host Scott Cam. “I’m so pleased for the girls to win it, and they deserve it. All of the houses have sold, and it’s a fantastic way to finish the 20th season of the show, with all five couples making some decent coin.”

Julian Cress, Executive Producer, added: “I’m so excited for all of our contestants who have worked so hard and I’m incredibly proud of Maddy and Charlotte, our youngest team ever to appear on the show. They didn’t arrive until week 5 and they’ve taken out the win. It’s a great Block story, a fairytale ending and they are an inspiration to all young women.”

This year’s season saw plenty of drama including the exit of two couples. Next year the show moves to Daylesford in Victoria for Season 21.

  1. I guess Maddy and Charlotte have something in common now with the Season 2 Winners Andrew (Rochford) and Jamie (Nicholson) – they both inherited the properties that were started by the original contestants.
In Season 2, Andrew and Jamie took over from Dani (Bacha) and Pauline after newspaper reports of Dani’s past surfaced.

  2. Why the heck list it finishing at 9.00pm when its was already recorded and still on at 9.20pm.It was not a live telecast so reason for this!
Only watched this episode to see the ridiculous prices paid.

      1. Same here, haven’t watched the regular show for years, only the auction episodes as just all fake contrived drama filled episodes each week, a sad shadow of the early years when the open days used to attract thousands, I’ve still got some of the blockaholic tshirts from those days when I used to not miss an episode.

    1. The episode would have had preset footage and the reserves, order drama and auction would have only been edited in late last night or early this morning, and the 9pm finish would have been scheduled well before that.

  3. Sorry The Block becomes more and more unwatchable each year. The show is now drama filled and having the same person bid and win all the houses. These days people are struggle to get a house let alone one of these. They need to go back to the drawing board and look and why people want to watch it. If you want drama watch MAFS. This is not having a go at individuals but I think this year they didn’t cast the right people. I ain’t even going to bring up any duty of care ….

  4. Totally agree. A joke really. Interesting to see what will happen next year in Daylesford, but, I would assume more of the same on auction day. Danny didn’t but any this year. Will he buy some next year? 🤣

  5. Happy that they all won. Tho again this year only professional buyers (buyer this year). Which puts the judging to mockery when their feedback is along the lines of “a family would like/not like” etc) which is irrelevant at auction time. Crazy.

    1. I see how the buyer Adrian Portelli admitted the show is rigged on a radio interview today with Jase and Lauren. It was confirmed before the show started he would be buying all the properties because as he said he was told all the Amenities come free. He also said he with a producer organised the auction order and he chose the girls to win and the girls new about it beforehand. To me that is simply disgusting, no matter what the contestants did or didn’t do it was all pre arranged. Disgusting.

      1. In the audio he doesn’t say he organised the order with a producer. But he does say “And then we just, you know, hand selected the auction order make sure the girls went last. So we can get them to win.” He said other contestants were not in on it but it suggests the girls were part of the plan.

        1. Semantics much who do you think ‘We’ is? It is obviously a producer/s who else would it be? Hand selecting the auction so we can get them to win, meaning he and a producer/s had a conversation and rigged the order. The girls new about the plan, they said in another seperate interview, they new about it and had conversations with him.Rigged. Yes I was paraphrasing but Quoting exactly what he said doesnt change the meaning at all does it.
