Melbourne Cup tops Nine ratings week

Horse racing led the week, but it was The Block that underpinned Nine's week.

Nine led last week’s ratings race with the Melbourne Cup top of the heap at 1.91m in National TV Audience.

The Block topped entertainment at a high 1.77m on Sunday night.

Seven News led with 1.19m on Sunday for Seven, just below My Kitchen Rules 1.2m on Tuesday.

US drama Matlock was best for 10 at 514,000 in what was a tough week.

Including this week there are just 3 weeks of survey remaining in 2024.

    1. By my count, the overnight national weekly wins are 24 / 11 to seven over nine. Weekly wins are not how final share is determined however. For that, I think we have to wait.

  1. Seven needs to exert in more effort if they want to win the ratings for the 5-city metro and gain a larger audience share. The 1st Test Cricket between Australia v India played at Perth Stadium will help increase the audience in the east coast in prime time.
Overall, Seven has guaranteed the national ratings victory in terms of weeks won and audience share.
