My Kitchen Rules tops entertainment on Monday

Seven's cooking contest enjoyed a timeslot win on Monday. Paul Barry draws a crowd on ABC.

Without a certain other reality juggernaut in the mix last night, Seven enjoyed a timeslot with My Kitchen Rules, and an easy Monday win for the network overall.

MKR drew 1.05m in National TV Audience. After Rob & Liam were eliminated, Seven was forced to remind social media users, “Comments are encouraged but offensive or personal attacks are not permitted.”

There are four teams still in the running for the Grand Final next Tuesday.

That eclipsed 7:30 (746,000), RBT (634,000), Australian Story (622,000) and Dessert Masters (369,000).

At 9:30pm Media Watch drew 518,000, as one of the last by outgoing host Paul Barry.

From 8:30pm The Space Shuttle That Fell to Earth (449,000) battled Matlock (447,000), then Murder Down Under (426,000), Twisted Twins (413,000 at 9:10pm).

Seven News was #1 at 1.26m. Home & Away was high at 906,000 then The Chase (594,000). SWAT was 158,000.

Nine News averaged 1.2m then wins by A Current Affair (1.07m) and Tipping Point (681,000). A Killer Makes a Call managed 229,000.

ABC News drew 841,000. Hard Quiz (353,000), Q+A (266,000), A Bite to Eat with Alice (178,000) followed.

10 News First was 317,000 for 10 then The Project (300,000), Deal or No Deal (266,000) and Five Bedrooms (174,000).

On SBS it was SBS World News (170,000 / 128,000), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (125,000), Into South America with Nick Knowles (98,000), Mastermind (80,000), and Never Mind the Buzzcocks (72,000).

  1. I do not know why Matlock does not draw more eyes….the writing is exceptional …the twist and turns keep you on the edge of your seat….lotsa good tech things also….I have never been a Kathy Bates fan…but she executes this role superbly 👌

  2. Much rather watch the artistry of Dessert Masters than the bitchiness of MKR. Whatever happened to the kind & loving show they promised on their reboot. The promos never concentrate on the food only the drama.
