rage screens Countdown 50th Special

rage gets in the 50th anniversary party mood this Saturday.

rage will screen a Countdown 50th Special this Saturday, the same day as the special Countdown 50 Years On screens on ABC.

To mark the momentous occasion, we’re heading on an all-night trip down memory lane, tracking the show from its inception in 1974 all the way to the final episode in 1987. We’ve delved deep into the vault to line up hours of our favourite interviews, performances, segments, and iconic moments featuring the likes of Judas Priest, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Joan Jett, Bob Marley, Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger, Madonna and heaps more.

And we know you retrophiles can’t get enough Countdown, so lucky for you the ABC is kicking off the festivities at 7:30pm with the premiere of Countdown 50 Years On – a night of live music plus stories and interviews from Countdown’s original 13-year run and never-before-seen archival footage

10:30am and 10:45pm Saturday November 16 on ABC.

  1. I can’t wait! Playlist will be worth checking out. Quarter to eleven quite early start. Grease has to be included from 1978. What about King Charles, Michael Jackson and John Farnham.
