Perennial US soap Days of our Lives has been renewed for a 61st season.
Peacock says has consistently been a top 10 title since it moved to the streaming platform from NBC in 2023.
In Australia it is fast-tracked to 10Play, although no numbers are available.
The Salem-based soap’s 60th season celebration is taking place at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater this weekend.
The current cast include Suzanne Rogers, Susan Seaforth Hayes, Deidre Hall, Carson Boatman, Raven Bowens, Tamara Braun, Elia Cantu, Bryan Dattilo, Mary Beth Evans, Dan Feuerriegel, Billy Flynn, Galen Gering, Linsey Godfrey, Stacy Haiduk, Jackée Harry, Leo Howard, Cherie Jimenez, Abigail Klein, Eric Martsolf, AnnaLynne McCord, Stephen Nichols, Ashley Puzemis, James Reynolds, Josh Taylor, Paul Telfer and Robert Scott Wilson.
DOOL is produced by Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday is the executive producer.

As a student nurse in the mid 1980’s DOOLs was must watch viewing when it was on channel 9 during the early afternoon. I can’t believe so many of those faces are still included in the main cast. It must be a great place to work as so many arrive, take leave and return.
It was Days 59th anniversary. Their big 6 O is next year.
I have amended to celebrating 60th season as per Deadline.
Who could have ever imagined⁉
Actually a lot of people knew it was …. the move has been a good thing …..
Yep and the older demographic is a good fit for streaming like that.
Going back I got my Mum a tablet and set it up with streaming, especially the free to air ones, Plex, Kanopy and etc., and she hasn’t looked back, YouTube she uses a lot as well, barely looks at TV as it airs now. Where for some of us commercials are a bit annoying, for people like her heading towards 80 y/o they don’t care as they’ve lived with it all their lives, it’s more the bonus of they can watch whenever they like.
So yep no surprise to me that long time watchers of Soaps like DooL, have taken to watching like that, can watch each day or a few in a day or binge the weeks worth if they want, like my Mum they’re not as restricted to at a certain time any more.
“Salam”-based soap? *ululates*
Haha. Fixed thx.
