Yet another territory has greenlit a local adaptation of The Summit.
ITV has ordered a local version of the show developed by Endemol Shine Australia and Nine Network, for the UK.
Ben Shephard (Tipping Point, Ninja Warrior) will host the British version commissioned by Paul Mortimer, ITV Director of Reality Commissioning and Acquisitions, and Amanda Stavri, ITV Commissioning Editor, Reality,
Mortimer said: “Not only is this a huge and complex endurance test for the contestants, overseen by the wonderful Ben Shephard, it’s going to be an absolute nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat watch for viewers at home. Filled with cliffhangers, shocks, twists and turns it’s going to keep people guessing from the very first step of the trek to that final summit.”
It follows orders in The Netherlands, Finland, US and Sweden.
It must come as some frustration closer to home that despite being created down under, the show was not announced to return at Nine’s recent Upfront.
The British show will air on ITV1, streamer ITVX plus STV in Scotland next year.

It failed in the US on CBS & probably not coming back for season 1. Averaging 2.1mill & 0.25 demo with its lead in being Survivor and that averages 4,4mill & 0.65 demo.
Probably not coming back for season 2*
It’s a terrific show, it just need some slight tweeks… maybe even a winter viewing show also
