There were definitely some pre-recorded bits during Carols In The Domain 2024 but thought it would’ve been at least partially live. Or at least, not on as much of a delay as previous years had been.
Either way, this year’s CITD was very much “same old, same old” when it came to the selection of performers and even things like the logo/on-screen graphics which haven’t significantly changed in years. I think either this year or next marks the end of a three year Seven/activeTV deal signed in 2022, so hopefully after that we might hear about the production/broadcast rights going out to tender.
Granted, there’s really only so much you can do to rejuvenate a Carols telecast but I’d personally like to see other production companies and networks get the opportunity to do something new/different. Heaven knows Ten needs a half-decent TV event at this time of year, especially with Xmas with the Women’s Weekly (how that show’s ratings have fallen since the Nine days…) not cutting it anymore.
Absolutely agree!
Well that’s what I’ve been trying to say all this time, it was recorded/delayed & it was so Boring, I changed the Channel.
Sound like I keep repeating myself, no favourites but for me honestly Channel Nine do the Best Broadcast Coverages & I have no doubt it would be Awesome on Channel Nine, Channel Nine should just broadcast everything!
This is why I don’t really like 7, among so much more.. they just don’t know what to do, are dumb & just keep ruining their shows.!!
And not sure why I always hear people hating on Channel Nine, if in fact I honestly see Channel 7 are much worser pretty much everywhere!!
Yep, channel 7 is hopeless. Don’t lie to your viewers! They are not stupid!
Channel 7 should not have used the watermark Live during Carols. It was certainly live to tape but not live to air, as it was delayed by 20 minutes. That’s not my definition of live.
If it was not Live To Air how did they manage to show their crash to black mid-performance by Mark Vincent, which lasted about 15 seconds, followed by a lengthy promos/commercials break?
Because Channel 7 are dumb, run by Monkeys. Have no idea about running a TV Network.. They left those parts to make it look more realistic, imagine if it was 100% Live, there would be problems all over the place! And the people who actually believe that it was Live, well they are even more clueless.
It was not 100% Live! It was delayed some bit.
It was a recording. It had finished by then and final fireworks had gone off. I know I live next to the domain.
Exactly right.. spot on!
