Matt Doran yesterday made his farewell from Weekend Sunrise after 5 years as co-host and 7 years at Seven.
He joined in 2017 for Sunday Night, covering big-ticket current affairs but by 2019 joined Weekend Sunrise alongside Monique Wright.
Yesterday, joined on the couch by wife and producer Kendall, he said, “What an enormous privilege for five years to be able to have those laughs with you, Mon, and with the viewers as well….the highs and the lows. Just looking at some of that stuff out in the field, you genuinely see the best and the worst of parts of Australia, during the floods and the fires and those things. It makes me think back to times when I’d be in the midst of a natural disaster and someone had just lost their house, or worse. And they’d come and they’d say, ‘Can we give you a bacon and egg roll?’ That’s kind of Australia….”
Joined by Mark Beretta, Sally Bowrey and crew he thanked them and especially Monique Wright.
“It sounds like a thing that people say, but the crew, I mean, you guys, know how much I love you….Everyone here, they do the most amazing job putting up with me… but Mon, I’m going to miss you beyond words. Sal, Berretts as well. Give me the biggest hug you can manufacture.”
Seven is yet to confirm his replacement.

Very odd he hasnt been hosting since his announcement, and was just a guest really yesterday… probably had to sign in at reception too….
Completely agree, it was very off the way it was handled with him being a guest and not presenting.
