ABC series The Assembly has opened for new autistic student journalists for a second season.
No experience is necessary for the series produced by Helium Pictures.
“We are offering autistic people with an interest in journalism the opportunity to take part in a specially designed introductory journalism program taught by Macquarie University and supported by Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) and Bus Stop Films,” a casting notice states.
Successful applicants will be mentored by Leigh Sales and take part in interviews with high profile Australians.
Applicants must be aged 18 years or over and will need to be available for approximately 4 hours per day for 3 to 4 days a week during 7 April – 6 June 2025 in Sydney.
Assistance will be provided for travel to the filming location. For applicants who are selected to participate in the Program, there will be payment for the time worked during filming.
