Rob Scott joins Seven News US bureau, Jacquelin Robson to Europe.

Tim Lester returning to Canberra, Ashlee Mullany joins 7News Spotlight.

Seven News boss Anthony de Ceglie has announced a number of appointments in a note to staff.

Journalist Rob Scott (pictured top) will join Mylee Hogan in Seven’s LA bureau.

“Rob is one of our most experienced senior reporters and joins the LA bureau after a successful stint in Canberra, most recently as Defence Editor. Over the past two decades, the last 12 of those with 7NEWS, Rob has covered many major events including Nelson Mandela’s death, the Bali 9 executions, federal elections, international terror attacks and natural disasters, and he’ll bring this vast experience to our US operation,” he wrote.

Brisbane reporter Jacquelin Robson (bottom) will be joining Ben Downie in Seven’s London-based Europe Bureau.

“She will be covering the full suite of news from the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Jacqui has done an excellent job over the past six years reporting for 7NEWS, including coverage of the deadly Sunda Strait tsunami in Indonesia and reporting assignments in the US, and very much deserves to take on this key role,” he continued.

“Tim Lester will be returning to our Canberra bureau after a remarkable four years in the US, highlighted by an extraordinary election and the second Trump Inauguration over the past few months. There are few broadcasters more experienced than Tim and we look forward to him bringing his extraordinary knowledge to a crucial Federal Election campaign at home that is predicted to be one of the tightest polls in memory.

“And after an exceptional eight years overseas, Ashlee Mullany has recently made a welcome return to our Sydney newsroom to join the 7NEWS Spotlight team as well as the National News Desk as an investigative reporter. In all that time, Ashlee has been a familiar face to our viewers from the centre of the biggest news events in recent history, most notably her award-winning coverage of the COVID pandemic, the Las Vegas massacre, George Floyd protests, 2020 US Election and more recently her reporting from the frontline of the Israel-Hamas war.”
