  1. I know the RCH GFA isn’t what it used to be and ratings (albeit very long run on a very sacred/quiet day) have been very low recently, but I still think it’s well done and it’s such an institution, it really makes you slow down, reflect about yourself and your life and put yourself in someone else’s shoes for a bit, whether you’re spiritual or not, something in a secular and busy rough world that’s seldom done and I still think AFL on Good Friday is wrong, we never had it and still don’t need it and it’s a bit of a fail anyway, at least it’s not in prime time. Some people say Perth Telethon and Kerry Stokes has bias, but I think that’s rubbish and they’re completely differently structured telethons. I do think The Morning Show in favour is wrong however.

    1. Unfortunately the almighty dollar now rules Easter and Christmas viewing. Not one Easter-relevant movie on Good Friday. Day and night NRL, AFL. I recall the better times when the ACMA predecessors dictated no commercials before 6pm and the networks aired appropriate programming at Easter and Christmas Day. Unfortunately in NSW we had NRL in primetime and apparently AFL was somewhere on 7 from 7pm, watched by very few.

          1. The 2016 version. There are two others. The original made in 1959 and another in 2010.

          1. The 2010 version was a TV miniseries with an excellent cast but the 1st film version was 1907 and a major silent film in 1925-nothing will ever match the 1959 version in spectacle for a combination of cost and OH’nS reasons. The 2016 version was the movie remake no one asked for and pretty much no one saw at the cinema…

  2. Netflix’s new show titled ‘Beef’ has sneaked into their lineup, it stars Steven Yeun (best known for being in The Walking Dead). Despite the distracting title this show could become a binge watch over Easter, especially if you like quirky comedy satire, the acting and comedy dialogue has been good so far.

    1. Quirky is putting it lightly.. you need to get on its wavelength to have any sort of enjoyment out of it. So far… it’s really good imo.

  3. And again, 9:50 Thursday night, 7 Sydney/NSW running the same old misleading, defamatory Air Crash Investigations promo featuring a Qantas plane and “a small metal part”. Nothing whatsoever to do with the program that followed. Kobe Bryant helicopter crash.

  4. Just saw about an hour ago that MSNBC has appeared on Foxtel. Channel 612, right below CNN. So far all the ads in the ad breaks are for other MSNBC shows or for their website – so I guess they haven’t lined up any advertisers yet. I hadn’t seen the news articles about this so seeing it in the channel list was quite a surprise!

  5. The latest poll is showing some strange results. IAC is clearly the choice, which, based on historical ratings should not be the case. And Other is #2. So what are people waiting for? Maybe the next poll should be: What are the other shows?/ I for one am really waiting for: The Summit, Hunted and Traitors…

  6. My Fetch Mighty box received the latest update last week, and I am not at all impressed with it. The first noticeable change is the horrendous lag in response to the remote buttons being pressed. Followed by the changes in the layout which leads to more buttons being pressed to get to where I want to be (primarily ‘recordings’), and the new blue underline of an episode title rather than grey shading over the line. This is 100% change for the sake of change, and not an improvement.

  7. How odd. A watermark on 10 last night was advertising Trump coverage at 4am EST… Come 4am and 10 is the only network not in rolling coverage?

  8. 4pm Seven Sydney News is giving me vertigo! Hideous red everywhere and three crawls at different speeds, left to right, right to left. Back to ABC24. Just present the “news” Seven without the distractions.

    1. Seven could really do away with two of the crawls. They don’t need to have the set background scrolling the word “news” on it. A live image of the city would be nice, just like they offer on the 6pm news. They also don’t need to have the crawls on the right hand side of the screen that scroll the words “breaking news” or “special coverage”. A simple chyron with the words “breaking news” or “special coverage” sitting stationary on it would suffice. The news ticker at the bottom of the screen is distracting enough, but at least its doing something quasi-useful by scrolling news headlines. The other two crawls have no purpose and should be dropped.

  9. I noticed that Channel 9 are now about to have another Harry Potter Festival ,this is so desperate of FTA , they were all shown umpteen times on the 7 network only a few weeks ago and now back to Nine and not to mention how many streaming services they are on.

    1. In the United States, the Harry Potter movies are never too hard to find on cable. At least every other weekend, and always on holiday weekends, a channel, usually Syfy, Bravo, or USA, will air them in a marathon format, airing one right after the other Friday through Sunday (sometimes longer if the holiday weekend is longer), repeating the movies several times over. The same goes for the Star Wars films, though they don’t air quite as often. Maybe every third weekend.

    1. I agree…I would also like to see Ready, Steady Cook….many of the current ‘celeb’ chefs started there….They cannot do any worse than the current fare being dished up…

    2. I remember Beauty and the Beast with Stan Zemanek. It was good to hear the news feedback and it was diverse. There were panellists, such as Ita Buttrose with Prue McSween. It wasn’t like The View or Loose Women because there was a permanent male presence as well, so it seemed quite balanced.

  10. Where is the xmas special for the detectorists? It is not on britbox, not sure if the other uk streaming has it, acorn, kind or ridicilious and strange that this has still not shown up in aus 4 months after it aired.

  11. So I just slugged my way through that boring second season of Your Honour on Stan, finally watching the last episode. I can’t remember a series that literally didn’t have enough story to tell for a second season actually manage to make ten hour long episodes. Bryan Cranston looked insanely disinterested in being there, the Baxter clan weren’t at all intimidating or interesting enough to warrant their crime family status, everyone seemed to just be sleepwalking their way through it all… I could go on… it saw itself as this gritty thriller but in no way did it come close to being any of that… what a boring mess after what was essentially a just-above-average drama to begin with anyway. I guess it’s my fault I put up with it for as long as I did. Ugh.

    1. Thank you for posting this, I gave up two or three episodes into season two as it was so boring, and nothing was happening. This is one show which should have been a single season only. I find US dramas with drug storylines to be boring as hell, but somehow the UK make it interesting (such as the final season of Happy Valley). Your post answered my question of whether I should continue watching it.

          1. Watched 4 eps of S1 and gave up on it. Just didn’t hold my interest enough to continue with it.

      1. Awwww thank you for that Pete haha. I likewise think the same about your contributions… it’s astounding how much programming knowledge you have and how quickly you relay that to the rest of us!
And good call tomothyd (I embarrassingly haven’t watched Happy Valley btw)… astoundingly they leave the door open for a possible S3 if you can believe that.

  12. Congratulations to Australian performer Rhea Ripley for becoming the WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 39 today. It was arguably the greatest women’s match in WrestleMania history. Looking forward to another fantastic night (daytime AU time) for Night 2 tomorrow. Such a bonus now that WWE have their own channel on Foxtel/Binge/Kayo with these humongous events thrown in without additional cost.

  13. don’t understand while channel 10 cutting it so close with a 5pm end to their f1 coverage. why broadcast until 6pm on Saturday but only until 5pm on race day. even with the race finishing on time there would be no time for the podium, post race interviews etc. better off watching on foxtel.

    1. I guess Ten News First is more important on Sunday to the network than it is on Saturday. Even so, if Ten is going to air the F1, they should do so properly, and that means airing the podium and post race interviews on the actual race day. Ten News can wait until 6pm on F1 weekend.

  14. For those that get 7 regional news at 6pm then to the main state based news at 6.30, do you get the first half of the state based one or only the 2nd part of the news bulletin?

    1. I think neither. Program guide reads
      7NEWS Coast 6:00PM – 6:30PM
Local news, sport and weather presented by Madelaine Collignon, Nick Hose and Kirstie Fitzpatrick.
      7NEWS@6:306:30PM – 7:00PM
Daniel Gibson presents the day’s national news, sport and weather.
In southern NSW we just get a rip-n-read 30 secs with stock footage vision and Police flashing lights for every crime or road item.

      1. This. I’m in Prime Northern NSW territory and we get a local bulletin hosted by Madelaine and then a state, sorry, Sydney based version hosted by Daniel Gibson. The only 7 news we get is the national dailies (Sunrise, 11.30am and 4.00pm) and the weekend.

      2. Sounds liek Southern NSW is getting a low quality bulletin. I hope Seven will invest more in Regional NSW news, just like they do in Regional Queensland.

    2. Just on the 7news now and it’s from Brisbane I’m in Wide Bay Burnett ,it’ll be a mix of local and national news but tomorrow 6pm it’s Local News then the Main one 6.30pm.

  15. Well today was the last day that I got to see the overnight ratings at 9AM daily here in QLD ,now it’s back to 10AM like the rest of the East Coast heathens 😁.

  16. Wow wwenrl you’re right! The Simpsons is no longer apart of 7 Flix’s schedule. 😭 For those who don’t have Disney + it really sucks. 😡 I hope someone picks up the popular long running cartoon as Simpsons should be shown somewhere apart from a streaming service even if it’s repeats.

  17. Season 3 of party down screened on Stan and finished yesterday …. It was produced ten years after season 2. After finishing it I thought why bother ? Just nothing special about it at all

    1. I agree. Nothing special at all.. it made me think hard at whether it was anything special in the first place too… I really don’t think it was tbh.

  18. It shows that Today was the last time The Simpsons was on 7flix, not sure which Free To Air Network will show it with new rights on offer.!
It shows on schedule 7 are replacing The Simpsons with 8 Simple Rules & Bondi Vet.. somehow Channels 9 & 7 both will have Bondi Vet showing!
