Can’t wait for Hawaii 5-0 – Alex is going to be fantastic, as always.
Breakout Kings : Didn’t they already do this…? Prison Break anyone? No
Midland : This one I might actually like! Dallas remake? Could it garner the huge audience that Dallas once received? Perhaps this is more down ABC’s alleyway…Yes (but maybe not FOX’s scene)
Ride Along
COPS gone scripted…? Really…? Easy No
Terra Nova: Dino-drama, probably should be a miniseries… Maybe
Keep Hope Alive: May work, if it doesn’t just run on the fumes left over from the pilot (FlashForward, V) Maybe
Traffic Light It might go decently on NBC, but on FOX, noone will watch it, unless it’s a parade of girls walking around half naked…No
The CW:
Nikita
Dollhouse meets Alias…? Instafail. No
Betwixt
Changelings? It might go well with Vamp Diaries or Smallville, but I doubt CW would green light a show and dump it on Friday, or dump Supernatural on Friday, so there may not be room for this… NO
Hellcats
Substitute cheerleaders for gymnasts and I swear you have ABC Family’s Make It Or Break It NO
Here’s my review of the upcoming pilots: David prepare for a long comment yet again… So let’s get this textdump rolling!
CBS:
Hawaii Five-O: Decent enough, might put a different spin on CBS’ redundant line-up. Definite Yes from me.
Chaos: Political dramas don’t belong on free-to-air network TV, it’s too difficult to understand for the average Joe, people barely watch the real life politics, what makes anybody think they will watch it on TV? Does it have 22 year old girls in bikinis as the protagonists jell-o wrestling? If not, I doubt this will last long. Definite No from me.
Defenders: Put together the fat guy from Stand By Me and the fat guy from a crappy sitcom, and you get a show that might actually bring down CBS… perhaps the desperate NBC should try this.. No
Bleep My Dad Says (aka Sh*t My Dad Says) :Sounds awful… when you incorporate twitter with TV, you know something’s wrong… No.
Livin’ on a Prayer Could be good, sounds a little like Mad About You, could be the 4th comedy they’ve been looking for in their Monday night comedy block, presuming it’s a sitcom of course. Yes( (for a tester)
Daniel Dae Kim clearly didn’t want to move away from Hawaii…
Okay, I will be watching Hawaii 5-O because Alex O’Loughlin is amazing. Also The Event, Chaos, Outsourcing, Breakout Kings, Terra Nova, Nikita and Betwixt. Okay, goodbye my life =)
@ Lynn. I saw an ad for that movie last night on TV and wondered who the guy was and it was bugging me because looked so familiar. Thanks Lynn for the info. I hope the movie goes well for him.
@john……”When the hell is Alex’s movie career goin to take off?”
I forgot to mention Alex is costaring with J-Lo in a romcom called The Back Up Plan,it’s premiere date here in Oz is May 20th.
I’m all for the Hawaii Five-O remake, but with CW picking up O’Loughlin’s cancelled (and great) show Moonlight…
I wonder how many of those shows will make it past the First Series.
ahh ok, i see. just that in the undercovers press release it said “NBC’s first pickup” or something and i hadn’t heard anything since.
interesting that L&O:LA it is made by Universal and will probably going to 7. meaning that 7 already has 4 fall shows. the same amount that they ended up with last year and offical announcement week hasn’t even stated yet, so it could be a good season quantity-wise for 7 after a few bad seasons in the last few years.
I’m really looking forward to the H5O remake, with Alex as Steve McGarrett(who I love) and Scott Cann as Danno I think this show will be a definite pick up and CBS’s top pick.
According to Alex this is the most expensive pilot that CBS has ever done,so it looks like CBS is pulling out the big guns…..can’t wait.
Brekkie surely there are more successful attempts at remakes than 9021doh. Battlestar Galactica for example. Doctor Who could technically be called a remake.
@justin, charlies angels remake never made it to the pilot stage, only the script stage.
maybe another year? hawaii five-0 has had a few spins before this year where it has made it very far.

Hopefully this works out for Alex.
Any news on Charlies Angels remake?
Yeh at least 1 of these will see a 2 year life. When the hell is Alex’s movie career goin to take off?He is a great actor ,has the look and oh that hairy chest of his.
when did NBC pickup L&O:LA? there hasn’t been any word from NBC re. it yet.
love bites sounds great becki newton was great as amanda in ugly betty would like to see her in another role. The Event sounds like a flop.
Why on earth do they continue in trying to remake old shows when they’ve hardly got a good track record. 90210 is about the only attempt in recent years to get past it’s first season – and their success is so modest it’s almost a failure.
Lots of new shows, guess only time will tell how long any on them will take to come here, most probably not until 2011-2012.
BTW you forgot the most important cast member of ‘The Event’, Scott Patterson (former Gilmore Girl, Aliens in America and now doing a short run on 90210) Interesting how he’s now on a show with John Ritter (Playing his step dad) who just guest stared on another new NBC show ‘Parenthood’ and they were both on screen love interests of Lauren Graham, small world in Hollywood isn’t it! Should make for interesting small talk between takes.
