Renewed: Bones

It's a no-brainer as FOX renews its procedural drama for an eighth season.

It was a no-brainer, or possibly a no-Boner, really…

Bones has been renewed for an eighth season.

FOX president Kevin Reilly said in a statement, “Over the past seven seasons, [series creator] Hart Hanson, [exec producer] Stephen Nathan and the incredible Bones cast and crew have redefined the traditional crime procedural (really?) with an irreverent and adventurous sensibility.

“I’m really happy to have this distinctive, fan-favorite on our schedule for another season.”

Given the state of play of other FOX dramas the news was no surprise. House is ending, Terra Nova is cancelled and both Alcatraz and The Finder are unlikely to return.

The renewal will take Bones beyond its 150th episode.

  1. god I hate crime shows, especially if they go for as many years as Bones. No crime show should have more than 5 seasons. its all the same thing every week, how can you people watch this stuff?!

  2. Never got into this show, didnt like the characters and got tired of “Don’t call me Bones”.
Not suprised if Alcatraz doesnt get renewed, a lot of hype, but a bit dull. I’m bored with it already.

  3. I never liked this show, found it too formulaic and the characters annoying. I find ‘Castle’ to be a more charming show, but even that is quite derivative.

Wouldn’t really care if it got axed, I preferred Boreanaz on ‘Angel’

  4. Yep not a shock. I don’t think people would have to be a genius to work out which show I hope they will renew.

Yeah it’s Fringe. So far Alcatraz is OK but I can’t always see it since they put it against genre shows. And sneaky Eleven brought back double Star Trek. On the Bones renewal I guess Seven will be pleased and I know people that like to watch it.
