  1. Is anyone else finding Home and Away super negative lately? Only bright spot at the moment is the occasional jokes from Ryder but everything else is so grim.

    1. Back when The Celebrity Chase was on 7, I noticed that each Wednesday’s Home and Away episode often ended by showing the phone numbers for Lifeline and Beyond Blue. Definitely something going on there.

  2. What a dud night of television. You’d think that it was Thursday/Friday night with such unambitious selections (and ratings to match) across the board.

  3. I don’t want to sound like I’m overreacting after writing this comment… but I believe Secret Bridesmaids’ Business was the worst show I’ve had the displeasure to watch this year. I’m not sure why I watched it to the end… but I did.
The acting was horribly wooden from a a talented cast… making it even more baffling. Not helped at all by the horrendous script, the godawful direction and the inept cinematography… tension was trying to be built but it certainly wasn’t felt. Honestly from top to bottom, it was one of the strangest productions I’ve seen from this country which usually does drama really well. The whole thing was nonsensical and overwrought… it was nothing new that hasn’t been explored before in a midday movie… over two hours, not six parts. What a colossal disappointment.

  4. Can someone tell me why the ABC’s Sydney audience is consistently only 60% to 70% of the ABC’s Melbourne audience – for almost any major program?
It’s been like this for a long time
Both cities have roughly the same population.
    Thanks.

    1. A few possible contributing factors..
Isn’t Foxtel’s penetration in Sydney higher? And Melbourne has a slightly older demographic than Sydney. Also Melbourne more left leaning so that suits appeal of the ABC more.

  5. Thoroughly enjoyed SBB, but the 15 minutes were absolutely disappointing. You were left to assume who died and too many lose ends. My concern is the ratings weren’t strong enough for a second series to tie them up. Do you have any news on this David?

    1. A concern in what used to be the a strong fourth quarter of the TV calendar the 8.30pm slot looks dire. A real concern for FTA if they cannot find something to rate in this slot above 337,000 on a Tuesday night. Wow!
