Irreverent to shoot at Mission Beach

A Chicago criminal on the run is forced to assume the identity of a church reverend, in upcoming series.

Upcoming drama series Irreverent will shoot at Mission Beach, Queensland, in coming weeks.

The 10 part series by Matchbox Pictures is written by Paddy Macrae (Wanted, The Family Law), Andrew Anastasios (Wentworth, Jack Irish), Angela McDonald (Operation Buffalo, Doctor Doctor) and executive produced by Debbie Lee (Hungry Ghosts, Safe Harbour, The Heights).

The story centres around a Chicago criminal on the run, who is forced to assume the identity of a church reverend.

“A lot of accommodation has already been secured including holidays homes, apartments and hotels,” Tropical Coast Tourism executive officer Patrick Bluett told the Cairns Post.

This is the second major production Mission Beach has welcomed.

“The production has been secured on the back of the successful Sea Patrol production that filmed in the region 2007 to 2011,” he said.

A broadcaster is yet to be announced.
