Nine sports presenter Erin Molan has quit the network after 11 years to join SKY News from January.
Earlier this week reports emerged that she would no longer present on NRL, but present Sport for Nine News Sydney on weekends. However those plans are now asunder as she moves to the subscription news channel.
Paul Whittaker, chief executive officer of SKY News Australia said, “Erin is a highly respected broadcaster and journalist who fiercely advocates on issues of national importance. Her insights will add new context for our discussion and opinion programs.”
She will also write a regular column for The Daily Telegraph and continues at 2DAY FM.
This year Molan instigated defamation proceedings against the Daily Mail following stories around radio comments, which is yet to be rule upon, and has been an active campaigner on online safety.
At Nine she presented the NRL Sunday Footy Show.

I take it 2DayFM are prepared for some of the far right opinions we’re about to hear?
So is primetime contributor code for a panelist on Paul Murray Live ???
Oddly though, Erin Molan can be seen on Nine’s “Light Up Xmas Appeal”, which is currently on air now (in Sydney at least; assumedly nationally)
Nine’s “Light Up Xmas Appeal” was airing in Sydney only and was pre-recorded weeks ago
Seems like a trend of Nine talent defecting to Sky, must be problems with management..etc
Probably better money.
