  1. Ratings seem depressingly low across the board. 10 would have to be concerned with Masterchef’s numbers. It all feels a bit same/same with what’s on offer at the moment.

      1. Watched ABC like so many others then over to SBS for the latest Hitler doco. Yes dear reader, was that desperate. Was expecting Tom Cruise to pop up but alas was not that “Valkyrie”. MasterChef coming in at #4 and 10 beaten by ABC suggests something dramatically wrong with this season’s recycled MC contestants.

        1. I suppose school holidays in some states may be a factor in lower numbers but none of the three reality shows is really getting high enough audiences to support their existence. The lowish demographics for The Voice would seem especially problematic given its youth focus of generally attractive, talented young people performing.

I think Masterchef is unsustainable at its current or lower levels especially with at least another 60 episodes (way too many for a reality show leading to boredom) to go this season. If there is no post-holidays surge I think Ten may need to bite the bullet and shuffle it off to a multichannel. That said I cannot think what they would have in the cupboard to replace it with.
