A modern take on David Cronenberg’s 1988 thriller starring Jeremy Irons, Dead Ringers is coming to Prime Video in April.

The series will feature Rachel Weisz playing the double-lead roles of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twins who share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes—including pushing the boundaries on medical ethics—in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s health care to the forefront.

Dead Ringers also stars Britne Oldford, Poppy Liu, Michael Chernus, Jennifer Ehle and Emily Meade.

Friday April 21 on Prime Video.

  1. Plus the absolute crepiness of the medical instruments that we saw so beautifully lit and shinning on the trays, all ready to be used.
Does anyone with any medical knowledge know if they were real ones or just made up versions to scare us even more?

    1. I take it you’ve never seen the original film from the master of body horror David Cronenberg-comes on TV every so often, most recently on SBS.

      1. Chuck,
Sorry, I was referring to the original film- that I haven’t seen for over twenty years – but the images of the pristine, gleaming instruments still stay on in my mind!

        1. The ‘Instruments for mutant women’ produced and shown late in the film were most definitely meant to be creepy but any modern surgical instrument is made from polished stainless steel.
