Seven Network has renewed its output deal with ITV Studios until 2029.
Seven has been partners with ITV for over 25 years. The multi-year agreement will see Seven extend its first look agreement for all ITV scripted and non-scripted finished content from around the world. Recent titles have included Mr Bates vs Post Office, The Marlow Murder Club, The Chase UK, Abused by Mum: The Ruby Franke Scandal and The British Airways Killer.
Among the upcoming titles for Seven are contemporary psychological thriller The Crow Girl plus Line of Duty, The Murdoch Mysteries, Vera and Endeavour.
Seven’s Angus Ross, Group Managing Director, Television, said: “Seven and ITV have been partners for more than two decades and we are delighted to extend this long-term partnership. ITV content is an important part of our schedule across the Seven TV channels and our rapidly growing 7plus streaming platform. ITV has some great shows that Australians are going to love.”
Augustus Dulgaro, EVP Asia Pacific Global Partnerships, ITV Studios said, “I’m so pleased to continue this fantastic partnership with Angus and the team at Seven. Given the challenging macroeconomic conditions, this deal underscores the importance of long-term relationships and brand alignment in the market. We’re delighted to see so much of our content find a home on Australia’s no.1 network, speaking to the commercial quality of our catalogue and upcoming slate.”

Why would Murdoch Mysteries be under an ITV agreement, it’s not a British show. Not even made by ITV but Canada’s CBC. I also find it extremely amusing when they advertise it as part of the great British mysteries, when it is a Canadian show with Canadian actors, set in a Canadian town and made by a Canadian television network. Do the people that make these promos even watch or know the shows they make promos for. They have been doing it for over a decade.
ITV probably acts as the distributor, but I can’t explain promos.
Ah that would make sense them being a distributor.
It’s worth noting that the ITV/BBC content previously seen on the ABC (mentioned by @Pertinax) screened in high-def.
Watching programs buried away on 72 is such an awful experience with its dreadful picture quality. If it was high-def it would be a much more attractive landing place for first run UK drama – which gets a bit lost on the main channel amongst all the reality programming and fiddling with the schedule.
They’ve already shown Murdoch Mysteries since 2004, Endeavour, Mr Bates Vs The Post Office. Line Of Duty S1-5 have aired on Foxtel and ABC without ads, S6 has been exclusive to Britbox for some time. Showtrial S2 was posted on ITX a fortnight ago, reviews were mediocre and they haven’t mentioned that again after announcing at the Upfronts. So most of what they are going to get is repeats of Vera that have already aired on 13th Street, then the ABC continuously for 15 years. Doesn’t sound particularly exciting. As for on Seven only S2 of The Marlow Murder Club, which hasn’t been scheduled yet in the UK, might air on the main channel, Karen Pirie ended up on 72 with repeats of Morse and Heartbeat from the 90s. The Crow Girl has just completed production.
i wish they would add all ITV News bulletins to 7 Twos program guide
They’d probably have to sign a separate deal with ITN for that. ITN provides ITV’s (and Channel 4 and Channel 5’s) news service.
From deep in my memory, I seem to recall Channel 9 airing the ITN News at Ten very early in the morning in the 1980s.
Used to be 6am prior to “Today” at 7am. Found this from mid-90’s (Sydney guide but probably nationally).
6am ITN World News
6.30 Daybreak News. Includes Business Today
7am Today
9am Here’s Humphrey
9.30 Ernie And Denise.
80’s was
6am National News
6.30 Business Today
7.00 Today
I think this was in the era when Nine broke away from Visnews and went to UPITN, CBS etc.
