  1. Congrats, to all yes in deed, However I would like to see more local or regional nominations. Western Australia, 10% of the population. We received two nominations . One for Indigenous Affairs coverage, the other for Bishop of Broome, which was covered by an Eastern States journo.
Short analyst of this. Not one of The West Australian or Sunday Times, Channels 7, 9 or 10. Post Newspapers news story was finalised. The one possible story of The Bishop of Broome, an Eastern state journo got the gig. Maybe they didn’t nominate.
What future is the media offering for local home-grown journalism , one of our most important professions?
A major gripe for us living in Western Australia is our News is so eastern states focused. Typical news hour 10 minutes WA news, 20 minutes national and worldwide news, 30 minutes of adverts, with sport presented by a gambling company. Yawn.
I think you all need to lift your game for the sake of local Journalism
