Is it any major surprise that Seven and Nine don’t have much in the way of AACTA Award nominations?
For the past decade or so, our two highest rating FTA networks have primarily based their lineups around News, Sport and godawful Reality Shows whereas the other FTAs and streaming services have more in the way of programming from genres (drama, comedy, light/factual entertainment, etc.) which make up the bulk of ACCTA Awards.
But in saying that, Seven and Nine have enough popular high rating reality shows to have a few extra nominations, but 10 dominates that award for this category. .
Seven and Nine used to dominate the Logies. But with their recent changes to the nominations voting, things have changed. Times are changing for Seven and Nine with the major television awards.
Ch7 is not going to be winning many AACTA awards with Home & Away and then RFDS every second year. At least Nine has Stan to say they are in the game.
