Ahead of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras SBS VICELAND will have a Free to Air screening of Ryan Murphy’s Pose.

Set in the 1980s in New York City, Pose is a dance musical created by Ryan Murphy that explores the New York LGBTQIA+ black and Latino ball scene. Amassing 20 Emmy nominations, and 4 wins across its 3 season run, the series stars Evan Peters (American Horror Story), Kate Mara (The Martian), Mj Rodriguez (American Horror Story), James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek), Dominique Jackson (American Gods) and Emmy Winner Billy Porter who won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance.
Season One, Episode One: Pilot In 1987 New York, Blanca Rodriguez pursues her dream of becoming a house mother after receiving a devastating medical diagnosis.
Episode Two: Access Blanca is denied access to a popular bar leading to a purposeful feud. Meanwhile, inexperienced Damon learns the truth about love and sex when he is asked on a date.
Episode Three: Giving And Receiving The House of Evangelista celebrates the holidays and prepares for the Snow Ball in spite of Angel’s lack of holiday spirit. Elektra contemplates undergoing an affirming medical procedure.

I really hope SBS VICELAND gets a rebranding and shuffling of programming to accommodate the 18-35 year old demographic– If you ask me, the fact there is nothing but news for half of the day is saddening, i feel like if it embraces the more diverse programming and have dedicated nights to certain programming (like an Anime Night or a Drama Night for K-Drama/J-Drama/etc, and so on), we could be seeing a better SBS VICELAND…and for god’s sake, replace VICELAND with something better, that name has lost meaning now that VICELAND is a dying brand
