Academy Awards boost for Seven

Seven's Oscars broadcast was up by 150,000 viewers year on year.

The Live broadcast of the Academy Awards averaged 474,000 for Seven -that was well above 2024’s 324,000 average.

The Red Carpet was 337,000 and boosted Sunrise. A very late night repeat was 101,000.

Meanwhile Married at First Sight was #1 at 1.83m in National TV Audience.

That defeated Australian Idol (886,000), 7:30 (845,000), Australian Story (705,000), and Australian Survivor (559,000).

Later Media Watch was 724,000 then Four Corners (702,000), Suits LA (242,000), Footy Classified (216,000 in select markets) NCIS: Sydney (164,000) and Rise of the Dolphins (161,000 in select markets).

Nine won Monday.

Nine News averaged 1.32m with wins by A Current Affair (1.15m) and Tipping Point (785,000).

Seven News led -just- with 1.38m then Home & Away (852,000) and The Chase (617,000).

ABC News was 977,000. Hard Quiz (363,000) and Q+A (332,000) followed.

10 News First was 358,000 for 10. The Project was 334,000 then Deal or No Deal (285,000). NCIS managed 108,000.

On SBS it was SBS World News (TBA), Michael Portillo’s Long Weekends (TBA), Dan Snow’s Greatest Discoveries (127,000) and Inside Sydney Airport (TBA).
