Sam Pang’s mission statement

The studio may be small but the comedy will ripple off screen on Sam Pang Tonight.

Rehearsal over, Sam Pang is in the thick of preparations for his upcoming Sam Pang Tonight, set to premiere Monday week on 10.

The series will record on Monday nights in the same studio as The Project at 10’s Como building, necessitating the latter to broadcast from Sydney on Mondays for Pang’s 8 week run.

The small space will include a studio audience, but Pang is keen not to oversell expectations compared to traditional Tonight shows.

“I’ll be starting with a monologue and I’ll sit over at a desk and I don’t know if necessarily we can rely on the Hollywood guests that the American Tonight shows can get, so I might temper everyone’s expectations there about you know big names,” he tells TV Tonight.

“The guests we’ll have on will be wonderful and interesting and entertaining I hope. There will be lots of segments and basically the focus or the mission statement is ‘How much fun can we have each week?’

“The comedy will trump, there’s no hard-editing editorials from me, it’ll just be jokes and silliness. Hopefully between Have You Been Paying Attention, The Front Bar and maybe the Logies, people might know what to expect.”

Sam Pang Tonight 8:40pm Monday March 17 on 10.

  1. Looking forward. Great to see The Front Bar back last night, lots of belly laughs and that’s what TV needs right now. Good luck Sam. Ten it would be a great time to bring back Blankety Blanks, with a revolving door of comedians on various shows….and I think Hans would be the perfect host.
