Shane Jacobson for Nine kid’s show

Shane Jacobson will host When I Grow Up for Channel Nine.

He has landed the role despite Nine filming pilots with both Bert Newton and Jules Lund.

The show will look at life through a child’s eyes. Described as “fun, family entertainment that empowers kids and captures the enthusiasm, wonder and hilarity of how they view the world.”

Celebrities set to appear include Ronan Keating, Sophie Monk, Deni Hines, Fiona O’Loughlin, Tom Gleeson, Colin Lane and Peter Berner.

The Kenny’s World star was previously tipped for a Nine show last December.

  1. More ‘original’ programming from the brains trust at 9. “Kidspeak” on 7 in 1999 used the same idea (with Andrew Daddo and Ernie Dingo). But that was hardly an original idea either. ‘Kids Say the Darndest Things’ started on American tv in the 1940s on the Art Linkletter show, and the idea has been used numerous times since, with a variety of hosts – most notably Bill Cosby from 1996-2000 and in the UK with Michael Barrymore (Kids Say the Funniest Things).

  2. I’ll pass on that. Isn’t their enough childrens TV, it seems to fill the majority of ABC 1 & 2 and all of 3. Try doing something local for an adult audience that isn’t retarded (i.e. Not Reality TV)!
