Ariana Grande makes grand-e demands

Former Sam & Cat star issued a list of demands and no-go topics when she met Australian press yesterday.

argranHer X Factor performance was undoubtedly audio-sweetened with a squealing crowd, but Ariana Grande’s mini-concert was certainly well-executed.

Which is a shame given today there are several media stories today are focussed on diva-like demands with the Australian media.

Grande, who recently ended her run on Nickelodeon’s Sam and Cat series amid rumours of friction with co-star Jeannette McCurdy, issued a line of questions to Sydney media that were off-topic. She also left photographers waiting after asking for some press photos to be deleted.

Grande, 21, would not allow questions about Sam and Cat, her love life, Justin Bieber nor Mariah Carey.

Press were asked to shoot her from the left only and not use natural light.

News Corp reports one of her representatives demanded a photographer delete all his photos, including having security approach him at his car. Fairfax also noted a shoot was cancelled.

“When Grande finally sits down with for our filmed interview – more than an hour late – she seems agitated and obsessed with how she looks, especially her hair. She’s concerned that the top of her head not be in shot so she looks taller,” it noted.

But on The X Factor, her on-air performance showed no sign of tantrums, with a tight, well-executed mini-concert.

Grande also appears on Sunrise today. Please seat Kochie and Sam on the correct side.

  2. I watched her on Sunrise this morning. Did she even sing live? Also this bit about only showing the left side – reminds me of George Michael, think he also demands to only show the left side.

  3. @Mapia, we are so unkind because we don’t think Diva/brat like antics should be given positive comments. I have made similar comments when Justin Beiber behaved in a similar way so please don’t assume we are all saying it simply because she is female as I find that extremely offensive.

  4. I agree with Johnno. On Sunrise this morning it was strange how she answered questions looking away from Sam and Kochie and forever fiddling with her hair. It looked rude and annoying.

  7. Yeah, who exactly. So I just forced myself to listen to parts of three of her songs on YT. Instantly forgettable factory produced tween pap. Was a lot of autotune used too but that seems to be standard these days. Let’s see how she’s doing in 5 years.

    Ugh, I actually feel like I need to go and rinse the sickly saccharine taste out of my mouth even tho’ it was my ears that were abused.

  9. I actually believe the bit about shooting her from the left. If you watch her interview on Sunrise (the one when she was sitting down) she kept on looking away from Kochie and Sam. I thought at the time she was rude, as doing this exposed her left side. Have a look if you can as it was really noticeable.

  11. I actually really like that she’s been called out on her poor behaviour by the Australian media. I think the American media pander too much to this kind of spoilt brat mentality. I would hope anytime a celeb tries to pull this kind of rubbish here our media would name and shame them every single time.

  14. What a Diva. Officially don’t like her – never did anyway. At such a young age she’s started acting like she’s “all that” imagine how she’ll be later on in life. #Girlneedstogetarealitycheck.

  15. I never even knew of one song she sang until yesterday when I had enough of hearing this dreadful song on the radio and Googled the lyrics to see who it was, and found out it was her. She better grow up and get her act together if she wants respect. At her age and with the age of her fans, she should be promoting that image isn’t everything.
