Utopia: Sept 24

Tony and his team are forced to cope with angry cyclists, plumbing problems and gluten-free muffins.

2014-09-24_1541There’s a bunch of Utopia shows around, with SBS about to return the UK drama of the same name. No sign of the US reality series here as yet.

Meanwhile here’s what’s on tonight.

Slightly disillusioned by his first 11 months in the job, Tony (Rob Sitch) thinks back to when it all began. The launch of the NBA was a great success but within weeks Jim (Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann) was at his door, desperate for some sort of new public announcement.

Stalled in the pre-planning stages, Tony and his team were forced to cope with Rhonda (Kitty Flanagan), angry cyclists, plumbing problems and gluten-free muffins. Not an auspicious start.

Also stars Celia Pacquola, Dave Lawson, Luke McGregor, Michelle Lim Davidson, Emma-Louise Wilson and Toby Truslove.

8:30pm tonight on ABC.

  1. I love this show and have had many laughs. It’s likeness to the public service is pretty spot on. Sometimes I think I’m still at work when they talk about the morning teas, practice emergency procedures, organising planning days, spending budget on professional development, syncing emails and calendars and of course the annual performance agreement-appraisal discussions. Well done, I can’t wait for the DVD.
