2015-02-09_2201Later this month SoHo will screen the bio-telemovie Whitney, starring Yaya DaCosta, as the directorial debut of Angela Bassett.

Arlen Escarpeta (Final Destination 5) stars as Bobby Brown.

Featuring “The Greatest Love of All,” “I’m Your Baby Tonight,” “I’m Every Woman” and “I Will Always Love You” sees Houston’s vocal performances are sung by Deborah Cox.

“Whitney” chronicles the headline-making relationship between the iconic singer, actress, producer and model Whitney Houston and singer and songwriter Bobby Brown from the time they first met at the very height of their celebrity to their courtship and tumultuous marriage. Throughout it all, difficulties followed the superstar couple while they dealt with the overwhelming rewards and consequences of the fame and fortune created by Houston’s meteoric rise that would soon overshadow them both.

8:30pm Saturday February 21 on SoHo.

  1. Another one of those Lifetime Biopics from the US. The same people that made that Biopic about R&B singer Aaliyah and received critical backlash for getting the casting wrong, the facts wrong and still went ahead with the production, despite the fact that the deceased singers family was against the making of the entire thing. Wont be tuning in.

    I’d suggest everyone skip this movie though, it’s truly bad. According to this movie, Whitney’s career began in 1990 and ended in 1993.

    Probably correct to be honest, but to focus on one small period of her life was a slap in the face for Whitney fans.
