Seven’s coverage of the Cox Plate 2015 takes place this Saturday, on Seven and 7TWO.
Bruce McAvaney hosts the coverage alongside Francesca Cumani, Simon Marshall and Simon O’Donnell.
Michael Felgate and Jason Richardson will be in the mounting yard with all the latest from the jockeys, trainers and owners. Neil Kearney, Jade Robran, Rachael Finch, Sam Hyland will also report.
Irish horse Highland Reel is likely to start favourite in Saturday’s $3m Group 1 weight-for-age Cox Plate ahead of High Bowman’s mount Winx.
Highland Reel has similar form to last year’s winner Adelaide having won the Secretariat Stakes at Arlington and will also be ridden by last year’s winning jockey Ryan Moore.
Seven’s coverage will have several features throughout the day as Francesca Cumani runs her eye over the three international runners Highland Reel, Arod and Gailo Chop. Then jockey Steven Arnold relives his outstanding Cox Plate victory on So You Think. And Neil Kearney catches up with the Gelagotis brothers and their Cox Plate runner Mourinho.

I’ll be watching on ch78. I find the sound quality better than ch7’s when races are being called.
I’m guessing that’s because it’s using MPEG-4 instead of MPEG-2.
