Tammin Sursok developing US comedy loosely based on her own experiences of trying to make it in LA.
Tammin Sursok is to develop and co-produce a US comedy series, Aussie Girl.
The former Home and Away actress, who found success in the US on The Young and the Restless and Pretty Little Liars, has partnered with youth-focused production company Astronauts Wanted, and writer/director Sean McEwen (And Punching the Clown).
Loosely based on Sursok’s own experiences, Aussie Girl takes place at the exact moment when her career in Australia “takes a wickedly-delicious-but-horrific turn for the worse and she is forced to get the hell outta Dodge and try to make it in the selfie-obsessed world of Los Angeles.”
The series is written and directed by McEwen and Sursok and executive produced by Cassidy Lunnen. Nick Shore and Kim Rosen will oversee the project for Astronauts Wanted.
No network is yet announced.
