7NEWS political editor Mark Riley and The West Australian’s Lanai Scarr will moderate a debate by Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Opposition leader Bill Shorten on Monday.
Staged in Perth in front of a live audience, it will be hosted by Basil Zempilas.
Australian voters will be given the chance to question our leaders about their promises and policies before we head to the polls for the federal election on Saturday 18 May.
The 7NEWS: Leaders’ Debate airs Live on Monday from 7.00pm AEST on 7TWO.

And despite Basil’s assertion – let me assure you that the debate is not “live around the country” and is in fact on half-hour delay in Adelaide.
Well I guess that’s an improvement on the last election when it was on Sky news which not everyone could watch but I wish they’d go back to having it on 60 Minutes like they used to. It was a tradition. Odd time being up against Home & Away & strange not being on the main channel.
Maybe Seven could add Di Natale, Hanson and Palmer to liven things up.
Why? None of those will be Prime Minister.
