UK drama The Bay begins next week on Seven.

Morven Christie stars as a detective sergeant family liaison officer called in on an investigation into missing twins.

The 6 part drama began in the UK in March.

With the Meredith family reeling from Dylan’s death and Sean’s arrest, Lisa is charged with finding his alibi and makes a game-changing discovery. Suspicions are raised about another Morecambe resident’s involvement with the twins and the police rush to find them. Abbie grows closer to newcomer Vincent whilst Rob agrees to take on a risky dare. Frustrated by the police investigation, Sean takes matters into his own hands.

9pm Wednesday May 1 on Seven.

  1. Limited series or mini series? Limited series implies that there will be more than one series, where a mini series is any series of more than 2 parts, longer than 4 hours, and close-ended.

Also, gotta commend Ch. 7 (I know I’m shocked too). The final episode hasn’t aired in the UK yet and it’s being broadcast here.

      1. Not necessarily true. Limited series indicates that a network sees potential in a show to continue for many seasons. I don’t want to preempt anything from ITV, but AFAIK it’s a standalone series. As a one-off, close-ended series …

  2. I am intrigued that Ch7 are showing and promoting more Uk series. Cleaning Up, Manhunt and now The Bay. I can’t recall such prominent promotion of UK dramas on 7 in years. Do they have new output deal, or no ‘catchy’ US titles?
Perhaps their shonky treatment of dramas in the past and their constant shuffling of them and later start times, means they are happier to take a risk on shorter UK series with less backlash?
