Legal fight over Grundy estate settled

Confidential settlement brings an end to a 3 year long battle over media mogul's $800m estate.

The legal fight over the $800m estate of TV mogul Reg Grundy has been settled.

Grundy’s widow Carolyn Joy Chambers-Grundy and estranged daughter Viola La Valette reached a confidential settlement, bringing an end to the three-year long battle at the New South Wales Supreme Court, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Ms La Valette began the court battle in 2017 disputing her father’s will, which made Ms Chambers-Grundy the main beneficiary of his massive estate.

The saga was worthy of a soapie plot itself, including a claim by former Bayside mayor Simon Russell
who claimed be the lost son of the late media mogul.

DNA tests proved he was not.
