Ted Lasso: trailer

First look at Season 2 of Apple TV comedy due in July.

A trailer has dropped for S2 of Ted Lasso. It was released as part of a wider Apple products launch overnight.

The Apple TV+ comedy had a strong first season picking up awards from the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The series stars Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.

It also stars Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster and Nick Mohammed.

It has already been renewed for a third season.

Friday July 23 on Apple TV+.

  1. This show has a complete disregard to any form of real-life EPL reality or hardly even make an attempt to understand football… it’s this complete disregard to all the norms of everything, including what people are watching right now, that unequivocally makes it a refreshing hit. Total escapism, kindness and a heart on its sleeve. Sign me up coach.

  2. This show gets a lot of praise, but I struggled to find a chuckle after two episodes, and gave up. Nick Mohammed’s character in those two episodes seemed to be a carbon copy of his character from Intelligence (a show I ditched before episode one even ended). Those those who like this show, how far into the series did it take to get hooked?

    1. I did the same thing with Intelligence. Before the final credits rolled I’d made up my mind that it was a gigantic no from me. Awful.

    2. Probably smashed through about 3 of them… it’s when the girlfriend character and the two main footballers find thier feet it gets really good. There’s some strong performances in there, once it gets going and then in Danny Rojas you have one of the funniest character intros ever. If you’re comfortable with that level of silliness you’re going to enjoy it.

  3. I’m no football fan, but I found this series to be so amazing with its heart and humour. If this super league nonsense gets off the ground there will be plenty of fodder for series 3.
