“We are thrilled”: Networks respond to Logie nominations

Here are statements supplied by broadcasters following Sunday's Logie noms.

Here are the quotes sent by broadcasters following Logie nominations yesterday:

ABC:

ABC’s Chief Content Officer, Chris Oliver-Taylor said, “From our presenters, to cast members and all those behind the scenes, we’re excited to celebrate their continued commitment to Australian audiences.

“The ABC’s exceptional list of nominees is topped off by Tony’s Gold Logie nomination and we are thrilled to see he has been recognised for his stellar work and talent.

“I am immensely proud of the work ABC’s Head of Screen Content, Jen Collins and her team continue to produce and commission. This recognition reflects the strength and diversity of the ABC’s slate, which continues to be unrivalled in its scale. We look forward to a very successful Logies night.”

ABC’s Director of News, Justin Stevens said: “The Logies nominations are fantastic recognition of the talented people who work for ABC News and the outstanding quality of the work they do for audiences. Well done to all of them.

“I am thrilled Tony has been nominated for the Gold Logie. It’s recognition of him being one of the most talented individuals in Australian media and a genuine star, and yet his feet remain firmly on the ground. We believe in him immensely and are proud of his achievements.”

Stan:

Population 11 actor Ben Feldman said: “It’s a tremendous honor (honoUr!) to not only be accepted by, and be recognised for, our work in a country overflowing with incredible artists and shows. If this nomination means that more Australians will watch our show and eventually allow me back into their country then my master plan has been a success.”

  1. This years Logie nominations are a big joke! Levi being H&A’s only nod. I don’t understand how annual programming such as The Yearly, Carols and News Years Eve can be included.

  2. If I’m understanding the system correctly, wern’t each of the major networks asked to submit one or two nominees, and that is then who the nominees are. So I fail to see why they wouldn’t be “Thrilled” when they picked them.

        1. +1 (Asher Keddie wasn’t able to make the photo shoot).

There seems to be a lot of confusion with the new voting system across the board. A shame that the public weren’t able to choose the nominees for the Gold. I understand not voting for the “smaller awards”.
