He may not quite match the rapscallion duo of Roy & HG, but Andy Lee will at least get to inject some of his niceguy humour into Nine’s Olympics broadcast.
Much like the Australian Open, Lee has recorded vignettes around two mins duration which will be scattered throughout Nine’s broadcast of the Olympics from July 27.
“I’m not going to Paris, much to particularly Bec’s (Harding, fiancée) dismay. She would have loved to have been in France with a croissant and beret, watching the fencing or something. I’m not going this time around, but I’m going to be part of the coverage, in its own special way,” said Lee.
“It’s really exciting to be a part of that and I’ve been working on it for the last couple of months.”
Gerard Whateley is on voice over for Andy Lee.

I agree Cathode, Hamish has always been the funny one in their shows.
I know he’s a different network but Sam Pang would be perfect for this!
Interesting choice , I think Sam would do pretty good too , but it such a different time to nearly 25 years ago when Roy and HG did it for “our” Olympics.
I do think the time zone of Sydney etc was friendly to their late night style. But Paris will have multiple events underway at that time, as opposed to the odd final.
Paris is 6-8 hours behind Australia. I checked through the Westfield Carousel and noticed that Matildas games were shown so late at 1am (WA Time). I wonder whether Westfield shops will make any arrangements for shops to show the game on replay?
The words Humour and Andy Lee don’t seem to go hand in hand for me.
Good lord… ;(
