Kiefer Sutherland will be released next Monday (US) from jail.
The star of 24 was sentenced to double-time last month, exactly 48 days incarceration.
Sutherland is believed to have been in a cell alone and assigned to laundry detail and kitchen detail.
“He wanted to be treated like any other inmate sentenced to do his time,” said authorities.
Meanwhile 24 has been shut down by the additional complication of the writer’s strike, but at least its star served his time at the most opportune time.
The show was due to launch in January but is now in limbo.

Im so happy to learn that he has done his time.
Ive always adored Kiefer since he appeared in Stand By Me in 1986 – the older he gets, the more appealing he seems to be for me.
Pity the situation with 24 but along with a lot of shows, we will be waiting a while for the new season!
On-going drink driving violations.
Please excuse my ignorance but why did he get sent to jail?
Method acting for 24? Hehe.
I thought he would have got out in the first 5 mins.
Seriously, what would he have done the last 48 days anyway?
