Is this the next writing on the wall for the television landscape?
Neither Seven nor Nine could crack the magic million for their news bulletins on a Wednesday night.
Seven News (984,000 / 949,000) defeated its rival (948,000 / 925,000)Â -it was the second time this week under the million for Nine, following another last week.
Just one show, The Block, managed to rise above the million mark at 1.32m viewers.
While Nine won in primary shares, Seven’s multichannels got them over the line again.
Seven network share was 31.7% then Nine 30.2%, ABC 16.7%, TEN 16.5% and SBS 4.9%.
The Force (988,000) was best for Seven. Border Security was 923,000, Home and Away was 841,000, Criminal Minds was 779,000 / 582,000 and Million Dollar Minute was 499,000. Motive was 211,000.
Nine’s other titles were A Current Affair (816,000), Big Brother (688,000), Hot Seat (536,000) and Big Bang (320,000 / 237,000).
ABC News (762,000) was best for ABC then 7:30 (672,000), Mad as Hell (623,000), Changing Minds (503,000), QI (384,000) and Timothy (327,000).
The Project was 591,000 / 467,000 at TEN. Next were TEN Eyewitness News (560,000) and Wonderland (443,000). The Good Wife returned to 297,000 but The Millers sank to 272,000 / 233,000 and won’t last long on those numbers.
Wildest Islands (229,000) was best for SBS ONE then the final Living with the Enemy (168,000), Salamander (119,000) and SBS World News (107,000).
7TWO’s A Touch of Frost (328,000) topped multichannels.
Sunrise: 361,000
Today: 280,000
ABC News Breakfast: 65,000 / 54,000

There’s not enough News to fill an entire hour?
Perhaps if network news was more positive and reflected society’s successes and achievers more, more people would watch, like in the country.
They never moved TBL when it was doing around those figures.
