Good news for Nashville fans with Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere both confirmed to return for its fifth season.
Also returning are co-stars Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella and Chris Carmack.
Season Five of the former ABC melodrama will have 22 new episodes, after being picked up by CMT.
Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples will not be returning.
Nashville will also have two new showrunners, executive producers Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick (My So-Called Life, thirtysomething), replacing Dee Johnson.
The series is expected to continue in Australia on SoHo.

A minor spoiler there if Hayden Panettiere is reported as returning 🙂
(But then, in terms of end-of-season cliffhangers, Juliette Barnes is no John Snow…)
I generally don’t take the view casting news is a spoiler… it’s news as an entertainment site. Character / storyline is spoiler. For example Ben Mendelsohn returned in Bloodline S2 in flashbacks. A rarity, granted!
Yay yay yay!!!! But I wonder how Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples will be written out. Are they 100% not returning?
101%.
I read somewhere else that they will be returning to wrap up their storylines.
