  1. Marco Pierre White has let his reputation down by taking part in this TV show. 2nd grade Celebs and then pre-cooked heated up food is served by these non cooks. Can’t even cook an egg.Thank God that Masterchef is still made each year. A show about real and talented amateur cooks. People supporting this show will guarantee that FTA TV will slide into oblivion. If we did not have some Foxtel packs to enjoy, TV would be off 60% of the evenings in our home. Sad direction yet again. What a shame 🙁

  2. To be honest I thoroughly enjoyed Hell’s Kitchen! I agree that the ‘celebs’ are a bit dire but its enjoyable watching lesser known people than complete strangers. It made some harmless entertaining and is a nice change from the over-the-top cringe factor of The Block! Don’t understand the hate towards Sam Frost, Chrissie Swan is also an ex-reality show contestant who has dipped her toes into a lot of different things over the years and hasn’t garnered the same level of despise.

    • I didn’t watch Hell’s Kitchen but it’s nice to see some people enjoyed it. I know some people are sick of reality but it all comes down to personal preference.

  3. watched 5mins of Hells Kitchen and that was enough- i’m glad that The Block and NineNews beat it.

the ”celebrities” didnt even cook the food. can 7 get celebrities that people know instead of the ones they have for this show, plus i also saw channel7 people in the so called restaurant-enough.
David that building that using for the show is that MKR building

  4. Tarzan had the bones of an awesome gameplay move last night on Survivor, but handled it oh so poorly and it all went horribly wrong (of course, it was all heavily and strategically edited by Ten… I’m all for editing, but they are just blatantly withholding key conversations…). Anyway, I always find myself never rooting for anyone except the underdog… so at the moment it’s Tessa… but when she’s picked off the next weakest one will be my favourite hoping for a breakthrough… Last year’s Survivor got very tedious and mind numbing because of the way people were playing the game… Thank God for Kristie… she was the key and true star of Ten’s reality show last year.

    • It’s true we were not shown key convos with AK and other tribe. Should be a blindside to Tarzan, not viewers. They could have planted the seeds without an obvious outcome. I think I also saw charades at one point. Overall enjoying the show, would prefer 1hr eps.

    • I’ve been catching up on The (Bear Grylls) Island – there’s plenty of drama just in the day to day survival of the castaways without the contrivance of the Survivor game play. I watched about 10 minutes of Australian Survivor last year and discovered I was over the nastiness of the format.

  5. bettestreep2008

Survivor continues to do well in the 16-39 demos. Sure it is being walloped by the turgid Block but lets look at the facts;-

    1. Survivor has a woeful lead in – Modern Family repeats.
    2. Survivor starts half an hour after The Block. Why would viewers switch channels after half an hour of watching that show?
    3. Survivor is poorly edited. There is no excuse for it being 95 to 100 minutes long. There were scenes last night that belonged on the editing floor.

The good news is that Ten will not have to worry too much about Hells Kitchen next week. The show rated poorly and reviews all round were scathing. Hopefully if they can get brand new eps of Modern Family next Sunday the ratings might improve.

It’d be a shame if Survivor Australia is axed again after this season. It is one of the best reality shows I have seen in years.

    • It’s a 25 year old format that has been dragged out to overlong episodes on an unnecessary number of nights, and stuck on a channel that struggles to attract new eyeballs. There is no buzz to this show at all.

    • Survivor USA is excellent. Short season of ten well edited one hour episodes. Survivor Aust trashes the brand. Extended season, long episodes all to fit in with Australian FTA obsession of stripping realty shows across the schedule. Audiences are getting fed up and long for more variety, hence FTA is on the nose. And don’t mention The Big Bang Theory!! Lazy and cheap programming rules!

  6. Watched Hells Kitchen… Probably one of the worst shows I’ve seen! Only tuned in for a few of those “celebs”… They don’t even cook only reheat the food what a joke!!

  7. Can’t understand such poor figures for Survivor. I look forward to it each week, think it’s great, at least not scripted like The Block, and other reality shows.

  8. By comparison, Zumbo’s Desert Show did 1.08. Given that and what I am hearing on Socal Media, I would be very surprised to see Hell’s Kitchen be the success that 7 wants it to be.

Good to see Survivor up (very) slightly from Tuesday.

    • Sunday afternoon AFL in Adel was actually the Adel vs PAP game that aired 4pm-7pm. Still, alarm bells should be ringing at Ten for Survivor. They’ve taken a great format and damn near edited beyond watchability.

  9. I think I’ll wait for timeshift figures before judging Blue Murder but Seven has to be disappointed. Seems like all Australian dramas are having a difficult time this year.
