TV power list

Newspaper takes a shot at naming the top 25 names on telly.

Everybody loves a list, but they are risky to publish for fear of putting noses out of joint.

Following headlines about salaries this week the Sunday Telegraph publishes 25 names in a TV Power List.

There’s no specific criteria outlined here, other than alluding to “most bankable, most popular, most influential stars on Australian TV.”

Here are the names:

  1. Eddie McGuire
  2. Hamish Blake
  3. Lisa Wilkinson
  4. Rebecca Gibney
  5. Scott Cam
  6. Julia Morris
  7. Amanda Keller
  8. Karl Stefanovic
  9. Andy Lee
  10. Carrie Bickmore
  11. David Koch
  12. Delta Goodrem
  13. Samantha Armytage
  14. Rodger Corser
  15. Sonia Kruger
  16. Andrew O’Keefe
  17. Leigh Sales

  20. Grant Denyer
  21. Waleed Aly

  1. Not so much overlooked but you have to question some of the choices, David Koch above the likes of Leigh Sales, Waleed Aly, Shaun Micallef, and Magda Szubanski. Hell I’d put Grant Denyer above David Koch.

  2. Put a Manu Feildel or Pete Evans before Richard Roxburgh, i had to google to see who he was. To be fair i knew once i saw him but surely being a household name is one of the criteria too.

  3. Some of these names they’ve put in are a stretch, surely Larry Emdur would be ahead of most of the last quarter of that list, I’d also have Kylie Gillies in with him.
